I think you are “the” authority on this topic…

“When I contacted the Hong Kong Visa Centre I was looking to decide if I should file for a dependant visa or wait until my wife finds a full time job.

I choose to reach out to you because, after studying all the material on your site, I couldn’t establish if I should file yet or not. But clearly you are knowledgeable and familiar with Hong Kong immigration.

And honestly, there didn’t seem to be another provider willing to help a “small potato” like me answer this sort of question without it costing a lot of money.

I was really pleased with your response as we previously went through the American K1 fiancé visa process (for my wife) on our own, without any professional help.

But in taking a similar approach to a Hong Kong Dependant Visa, I couldn’t establish what “works” in Hong Kong.

I was able to navigate the American immigration process successfully because I could study lots of peoples experiences on the internet, see what worked for people, and what didn’t, and “reverse engineer” the process.

In Hong Kong however, either not many people with our circumstances are applying or those that do don’t write up their approach/success/failure stories in enough quantity for me to figure out what works and what doesn’t.

After finding and reading through your website, I think you are “the” authority on the this topic…. at the very least the only one who is willing to share your experiences and knowledge so generously.

I was pleased with your answer because I can go ahead and start the application process, rather than holding off for an unknown period of time.

My wife and I recommend you to anyone who wants a Hong Kong visa!”

If you need straightforward, honest and useful advice, this is the place to come

“ I emailed for advice, as I was having trouble with the Immigration Department and my accountants were dropping dark hints about prosecution and possible expulsion.

I thought I’d just get a standard reply but within an hour Stephen called me, gave me advice on what I should do and greatly reassured me about the situation.

I did what he suggested and just over a week later the problem was resolved – and all of that advice was free!

I can’t recommend him highly enough: if you need straightforward, honest and useful advice, this is the place to come.”

All I can say is a very big THANK YOU. Your advice, your Visa Extension kit and your services are invaluable

“ Dear Stephen,

I wanted to follow up with you on the results of the above enquiry. All I can say is a very big THANK YOU. Your advice, your Visa Extension kit and your services are invaluable.

My current employment visa was due to expire tomorrow and I went in to the 5/F extension section today (the day before) – I had completely forgotten to start the process 4 weeks earlier. I also needed to travel again on May 4th for business and would not have been able to return to HKG until May 25th.

So I was concerned about getting an interim visa and then being back here in time to collect my extension.

In addition, I had so many issues the last time around with delays on getting the extension that I was very apprehensive about this round (my sponsoring employer is a very new company established in HKG only a few years ago and when I transferred my sponsor from a previous to current employer I had a very hard time getting the extension that was my second 2 year extension). This was my final 3 year extension.

However, I followed your instructions and our company used your templates to the letter with a few minor modifications and I went to my pre-booked appointment today and despite the wait of a couple of hours, and the late application for extension —- to my absolute pleasant surprise the HK Immigration approved me within 2 hours for the 3 year extension!!!

No hassles, no questions and no requirement for additional documents. I am very relieved and extremely pleased with the results of your guidance.

Thank you for your openness in sharing knowledge with the community and demystifying this process. “

You answered all my questions very succinctly and completely – thank you!

“I was looking for some clarification on the rules around an employment gap and impact to my future Right of Abode application. I also had a few questions about the CIES visa application process.

You answered all my questions very succinctly and completely – thank you!

The advice on your website is presented in a very straight-forward manner, and the responses across questions appear very consistent and thorough.

While I can’t validate that the advice is correct since I’m not a lawyer myself, the Hong Kong Geeza website seems very professionally managed and the advice presented appears very professional and credible.

And because your advice is published to the public, I trust it more than if it was sent to me personally.

The advice seems sincere and I was pleased because your response was complete and thorough (and reassured me that I was heading down the right path!)

As a direct result, I was able to feel reassured that when I apply for the Right to Abode at a future point, that my current gap in employment would not jeopardize my application. Also, your response encouraged me to move forward with my CIES application.

I recommend you to anyone who has any immigration-related questions. I have already told about 10 people about the free and very helpful advice on your website. In the future, your firm will be my go-to immigration lawyer (I will definitely use your firm to help me submit my Right to Abode application) for personal use or if a friend asks for referrals.

Thanks again!”

I recommend the Hong Kong Visa Centre to anyone who has any issues with respect to their Hong Kong immigration

“When I contacted the Hong Kong Visa Centre I was looking find out whether my current residency and its trajectory were on course to achieve Right of Abode approval upon attainment of 7 years. I did ask another lawyer who didn’t quite give me a straight answer, so I was looking for someone a little more definitive.

So, I started searching the net and the Hong Kong Visa Geeza seemed to be very informative with well reasoned, real-world questions and answers.

I was pleased with the help I received as it addressed all of the points I raised without changing the subject, as lawyers often do and now I have a clearer picture of an otherwise complex problem.

I recommend the Hong Kong Visa Centre to anyone who has any issues with respect to their Hong Kong immigration, especially if it is above and beyond the garden variety 7 year no-bumps or interruptions work visa.”
