Can you keep your Hong Kong dependant visa if you no longer live in Hong Kong with your sponsoring spouse?

QUESTION

My wife has a Hong Kong dependant visa. She recently took a job outside of Hong Kong and will not be able to return for 8-10 months.

Is there a requirement for dependant visas that she reside in Hong Kong for any length of time?

She is in her 3rd year of her Hong Kong dependent visa which will expire in July 2017.
